1. Irones form through slow oxidation of Iris pallida ". 2. The flower is similar in form to an " Iris pallida " flower. 3. In 1939, Brian Mathew considered it to be a subspecies of " Iris pallida ". 4. These Irises were all the progeny of two species, " Iris pallida " and'Iris variegata '. 5. It is listed by United States Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural Research Service as a synonym of " Iris pallida " 6. In the wild, hybrids of'Iris pallida 'and'Iris variegata'are very similar to " Iris germanica ". 7. It is normally classified as " Iris pallida " subsp . " cengialti ", and thought to be a naturally occurring hybrid. 8. In May 1886, Sir Michael Foster noted in Gardeners'Chronicle on pages554 and 555, that it had similarities with " Iris pallida ". 9. It was later classified as a hybrid, but it is unsure which species ( of iris ) are the parents . and " Iris pallida " 10. Later, some authors have re-classified the species as a subspecies of " Iris pallida ", as " Iris pallida subsp . pseudopallida ".
